Le Chant de l'Âme
AOP Terrasses du Larzac
The 11-hectare vineyard is situated in the iconic Terrasses du Larzac appellation area, in the village of Jonquières to be precise. Located in the magical triangle, it boasts soils of red sandstone rich in the iron oxide called 'ruffe' set amidst a picture-postcard landscape that is home to small blocks of Syrah , Carignan, Mourvèdre, Grenache and Cinsault. This wine is selected and made at an independent winery that has just joined an organic scheme, like 60% of the winegrowers in this appellation area officially recognised in 2014. The climate is marked by significant diurnal shift which promotes freshness in the wines. High-precision maturation in oak paves the way for lovely complexity in the wine.
Mourvèdre Cinsault Carignan Syrah
16-18°C
11 ha vineyard located in Jonquières, in the very heart of the Larzac. An ensemble of parcels hidden in a landscape of limestone scree form the estate.
Vines are pruned short in the 'gobelet' way. Winegrowing done in the organic method. Manual harvest with bucket.
Traditional method.
This wine would be perfect with grilled meats, sauced meals and fine cheeses.
Deep and brilliant purple colour. On the nose, aromas of liquorice, blackcurrant and ripe cherry. Peppery notes. Supple and greedy on the palate.
