Belles du Sud Grenache-Syrah
IGP Pays d'Oc
Belles du Sud is the anchorage, the bedrock of today's Auriol company. The majestic Fontaine des Trois Grâces adorns the Place de L'Oeuf in Montpellier. The refreshing fountain is decorated with Roman nudes, their shoulders bearing symbols of opulence: baskets of grapes and amphora. You will find such fountains in all the towns of the Mediterranean perimeter: it is a typical characteristic of local architecture. These should remind you of our values and the symbolic corpus of our history: the Mediterranean identity, the Roman impact on the civilization of Wine, wine as an integral part of our culture and economy. Wine as Art, or failing that, the Art of Living!
Grenache Syrah
16°C
The vineyards are located on the high terraces bordering the Mediterranean coastline in the Minervois area. They benefit from a hot, dry climate mitigated by an average elevation of 150 to 200m, which promotes development of aromas in the grapes during ripening, producing a range of wines with lots of finesse and perfume.
Utmost care is paid to vineyard management and fruit health. The vines are pruned as bush vines for the Grenache and using the Cordon de Royat system for Syrah.
The grapes are harvested by machine then destemmed on arrival at the winery. Strict temperature control during fermentation maximises fruit extraction and great development of aromas. Maceration lasts for a few days after the end of alcoholic fermentation. The varietals are vinted separately and blending is based on the results of tasting. Maturation lasts 6 months.
The wine's floral aromas make it an excellent partner for modern cuisine foods, cured meats and blue-veined cheeses.
Garnet with purple-blue tints. Powerful nose of ripe cherry, strawberry, plum and soft spices. The wine is enjoyable to the palate with soft tannins and lots of sweetness. Drink within the first three years after bottling.
