Claude Vialade, Woman of Wine and founder of Maison Auriol

The four family vineyards and brands, the soul and flagships of the company, are located in the Corbières in Occitanie, in the heart of the Orbieu Valley between the villages of Lagrasse and Fabrezan, including:

• One part grown through conventional viticulture:
  Saint Auriol
• One part managed through organic viticulture:
  Corbières Montmija and Maison Vialade
• A final part dedicated to an experimental vineyard and focused on wine tourism: Château Cicéron

As a child, Claude would accompany her father, Jean Vialade, through the vineyards and cellars of the estate where he was manager. During the harvest, she would dip her fingers into the fermenting must, much to her father's delight. After studying business, Claude began her career in wine distribution on the international market within a leading producer group in the region.

Ten years later, she left this group to take over the management of the ODG A.O.P. Corbières, where she helped develop the wine routes, terroir policy, communication strategy and market economy. However, she felt closer to the economy and the field than to union representation and its compromises.

She left this position and, in 2000, created a wine merchant-winemaker company specialising in wines from the South of France: SAS Les Domaines Auriol, which exports 10 to 12 million bottles and distributes the family estates.

These are personalised wines with a strong identity. They reflect a cru-based approach and position S.A.S Les Domaines Auriol in the world of fine wines. These crus enjoy an established international reputation. The family estates are vinified, aged and bottled in our cellars.
